Fire extinguishers
South County Fire cannot accept expired or used fire extinguishers.
You can dispose of used fire extinguishers at Snohomish County Household Hazard Waste facility, 3434 McDougall Ave. Everett, WA 98201-5041. Used fire extinguishers are also accepted at Snohomish County Recycling and Transfer Stations and Drop Box sites. Some quantity limits or other restrictions may apply.

Lithium-Ion battery
South County Fire cannot accept lithium-ion batteries.
You can dispose of batteries at the Snohomish County Household Hazard Waste facility, 3434 McDougall Ave. Everett, WA 98201-5041. Learn more at the Snohomish County Household Hazardous Waste webpage. Other free drop off locations include Home Depot and Lowes. Both home improvement stores have bins for recycled batteries.
Unused or expired medications
Keeping unused, unwanted and expired prescription drugs in your home poses a risk to you, your family and your community. Improper disposal may lead to illegal use and may also contaminate our waters.

Needles (sharps)
South County Fire cannot accept needles (sharps). Used needles require special handling and disposal in order to protect public health and the environment.
