South County Fire
Home MenuCall 911 or Non-Emergency Dispatchers?
If you have an emergency where there is an immediate threat to life or property, you should contact 911.
But what if it’s not an emergency? Examples of non-emergencies include:
- Illegal fireworks complaints
- Reporting a blocked fire lane or malfunctioning fire alarm
- A found pet or property item
If you want to report a problem or concern that is not an emergency, call Snohomish County 911's non-emergency number. Dispatchers still answer the non-emergency line 24-hours a day, but emergency calls get priority.
Report a non-emergency: 425-407-3999
Please program this non-emergency number into your smart phones and ask family members to do the same.
When you call, be prepared
When calling either 911 or the non-emergency number, please be prepared to answer the dispatchers questions, which may include:
- The address or location where the incident occurred
- Your phone number for a return call
- Basic description of the situation or people involved
- Other questions to prioritize your incident.
Keep your answers brief and to the point. The same trained staff answer both 911 and the non-emergency number.
Can we find your house?
It's important that emergency crews can identify which house is yours.
- Make sure your house number can be seen from the street both day and night
- Make sure house numbers are large (at least 4 inches in height)
- Trim bushes and trees so they don’t block house numbers
- Be sure your address is clearly posted at the entrance to the driveway if you have a long driveway
