Sudden cardiac arrest kills almost 1,000 people each day in the U.S.

Bystander CPR provided in the crucial minutes before first responders arrive can be lifesaving. For each minute CPR is delayed, the odds of surviving are reduced by about 10%.

Do you know someone who has provided lifesaving skills that are taught in our ACT First Aid & CPR Class?

You can now nominate them to be recognized by South County Fire. Submit a nomination by emailing ACT@southsnofire.org and include the full name of the person, date, and details of the save story. We will follow up with you.

PulsePoint: Get alerts when CPR is needed nearby

The free PulsePoint mobile app alerts CPR-trained residents when a sudden cardiac arrest occurs in a public place in their immediate vicinity.

Those residents can then voluntarily respond and start CPR in the critical life-saving minutes before first responders arrive.

PulsePoint also directs potential rescuers to the location of the nearest Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

The Medic One Foundation is funding the use of this technology in Snohomish County.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)

When sudden cardiac arrest occurs, finding and using an AED, along with early CPR, can help save a life.

Most schools, libraries and many public buildings have AEDs.

Email South County Fire to learn more about this lifesaving technology, training and how to register your AED with PulsePoint so others can find it quickly in an emergency.

Register AED locations in PulsePoint

Help us identify AED locations in our community by registering with the PulsePoint app. This information is then shared with 911 dispatchers so they can direct bystanders to the AED location during a cardiac emergency.
